Commenting on the decision to award the Trunk Roads Maintenance contract for the North-east to BEAR Scotland Limited for the five years from 2007, local MSP Stewart Stevenson commented:
“With the onset of wintry weather, I know that the road crews from both BEAR, and indeed the council, will do their utmost to make our roads safe.
“What the public needs to know, however, is that BEAR senior management will provide its gritting and clearing crews with adequate resources in order to allow them to do their job. I will be keeping a watchful eye to ensure that crews are given the tools to do the job.”
