Born in 1946 and brought up in Cupar, Fife, I was educated at the local school - 
Local MSP Stewart Stevenson officially opened the Mintlaw Under Fives base, near Mintlaw Academy recently.
The group struck a deal with Aberdeenshire Council to create the play area earlier this year. Commenting, Mr Stevenson said:
“I applaud the efforts of everyone involved in the campaign for the play area which is a huge success. It was clear to see that the kids using the area were having a brilliant time so too were many of the parents.
“I’m sure that the play area will be well enjoyed by local youngsters, especially with the summer holidays about to commence.
“I’m certain that the play area will be an asset to Mintlaw for many years to come.”
